The initial consultation is approximately 30 minutes - 1 hour. In a private consultation (in person or via telephone/Skype), we will address your concerns in depth, discussing any medical diagnosis you have received from your physician, your past medical and family history, medications and supplement use, dietary habits and nutrition, exercise, sleep patterns, areas of enjoyment and/or stress in your life, and your specific goals.
Together we will explore your health and look for areas that can be improved using natural options. Often, a few very simple adjustments in diet/lifestyle can be just the thing to restore balance.
Following our consultation, I will design a natural herbal plan catered specifically to your needs and treatment goals. I often recommend dietary improvements, exercise suggestions, stress reduction techniques, and other supportive lifestyle practices to compliment the herbal medicine formula.
An initial 1 – 2 week supply of herbal medicines will be dispensed for you, using the highest quality botanicals from the herbal dispensary. These will be in the form of herbal teas, tinctures, and/or topical lotions, and I will provide dosage and preparation instructions. Other supplements – such as vitamins, minerals, and probiotics – may also be recommended.
For simple and acute cases, I will dispense your formula immediately following our consultation. For more complex cases that require additional time to formulate, please allow 1 – 3 days for your herbal plan and formula to be prepared.
Follow ups are usually 30 – 45 minutes in length and are recommended every 2 – 6 weeks for chronic conditions. These are valuable meetings in which we review progress or setbacks, discuss additional healing options, and allow time to amend the herbal formula if necessary.
